Tromsø Safari

Reindeer Sledding & Sami Culture

We would like to invite you to visit a Sami camp for a genuine and family-friendly reindeer sledding safari.

We head to the edge of Tromsø, about 50 km from the city centre where a mountainous area close to the Lyngen Alps is home to magnificent coastal sceneries and idyllic villages.

Enjoy the peace and quiet from the nature around as you relax by floating across the snowy

landscapes.

Get up-close and personal with our beautiful animals as you help us feed the reindeer calves that are ready to be domesticated. Prepare to be charmed by the fascinating reindeer and find that you love our gentle but curious and furry creatures just like we do – Our true hero in the Arctic!

The Sami guides will tell you about the ancient lifestyles of reindeer herders and maybe also

reveal some secrets of surviving life in the Arctic while you are served hot drinks and a

traditional meal cooked over the fire.

Allow yourself to become one with nature and replenish your mind and on this daytime outdoor excursion

* If conditions change, we reserve the right to amend the duration of the reindeer sledding.

* All animals used for these services are trained for the activity. However, the behaviour of

animals can be unpredictable and therefore it is essential that all participants follow all

instructions for their safety, and the safety of others.

* The sledding takes place as a “raid” where each reindeer and sled are bound together in a

long row with the lead reindeer in the front.

* Sleds are shared, two participants per sled.
